Get background information by using a reference work in the field such as the Encyclopedia of Sex and Gender or International Encyclopedia of Social and Behavioral Sciences.

  • Center for the Study of Gender and Sexuality (CSGS)
    The Center for the Study of Gender and Sexuality (CSGS) at NYU is among the few centers in the U.S. with a named emphasis on both gender and sexuality. The Center facilitates a broad interdisciplinary investigation of gender and sexuality as keys to understanding human experience.
  • Program in Gender and Sexuality Studies
    The undergraduate Program in Gender and Sexuality Studies is administered through NYU's Department of Social and Cultural Analysis and offers a broad interdisciplinary investigation of gender and sexuality as keys to understanding human experience, fully integrating the study of gender and sexuality in its core curriculum, and insistently extending the view beyond U.S. borders.
  • LGBTQ Student Center
    The New York University Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer Student Center creates a welcoming environment for all University students and faculty interested in developing their understanding of LGBTQ issues. With its services, programs and resources, the NYU LGBTQ Student Center exists to create campus environments that are inclusive and supportive of student diversity in the areas of sexual orientation and gender identity and expression.
